🌟 Our Top Pick: Hilton Wuhan Riverside
📍 Best Area: Hankou (West of Yangtze River)
Best Value: Hilton Wuhan Riverside
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family Pick: Royal Suites & Towers Wuhan

During our time in Wuhan, we stayed at the Marriott Hotel in Wuchang district near East Lake. While the hotel itself was excellent with spectacular views, we quickly realised that being on the east side of the Yangtze wasn't ideal for exploring the city.

After spending more time in Wuhan and exploring different areas, I can now share the best locations and hotels for different types of travellers.

FAQs

Q: Which side of the Yangtze River is better to stay in Wuhan?
A: For most visitors, staying west of the Yangtze River in Hankou is recommended. This area offers better access to restaurants, shopping, and nightlife, plus it's more walkable with plenty of traditional and modern attractions.

Q: Is it worth staying near East Lake?
A: While East Lake offers beautiful views and a peaceful environment, it's not the most convenient location for exploring Wuhan. Consider it only if you're specifically interested in nature and don't mind longer travel times to main attractions.
